Just Hanging out!

Just hanging out 2012
I do hope everyone had a wonderful week end. It is beautiful here in Wisconsin. Just a perfect a day to go fishing and have some fun with your Dad. We are celebrating FATHER’S DAY at  Cards for Men with our new Challenge #12 and it starts today June 4 until June 17 and that is Father’s Day. So if you have not made a card for Dad you still have a couple of weeks to get it done. I always make the grandkids cards for their Dad’s just like I do for Mother’s Day. They are getting older now and I think I’m going to get a project going and have them make just a little something special this year. Isaiah my grandson that lives in South Dakota will be here soon for the summer soon, that is always so exciting as we all miss him so much.
The stamp set is from Crafters Companion it is called Popcorn The Bear unmounted rubber stamp set fishing popcorn, I do have a few stamps added from another one of their sets. The stamp sets are pretty big and I was so happy that I have from Memory Box Debutante Frame die cut, the one big stamp fits perfect with that die cute. Paper is from Die Cuts with a View.
Our sponsor for this challenge is Letraset, if you can stop by and see all the wonderful products.

I did stamp a couple extra fish and cut them out and added them to the card to give a 3D look. Also add some Diamond Glaze to give the look of being wet for the water. For the sky and water I used brilliance sky blue and a template.

Haleigh’s Graduation

Haleigh graduation 2012

My grand daughter graduates from high school tomorrow and I could not be more proud of her. So I put together this fun card for her and I know she is going to love it. The image reminds me of her she is always so happy and excited about everything and looking so much to her future as she will be starting collage in the fall. The image is one of Sassy Cheryl’s and is called frantic girl graduate digi. The paper I used was from my scraps as I do have so much. The large brads I had and I have no idea who made them. Dies cuts are banner is from a-muse studio and I embossed the paper with cuddle bugs folder dots, CC designs die is the balloons, spellbinder die is labels 8. Added a Owl charm that she can take off.

Here is both side views. I sponged around the image with distressed ink dusty concord. Here is a picture of Haleigh this was just taken last month when she went to the prom. I ‘m not going to tell her I added her picture to my blog, I will let her find it. She looks so much like her mother, just adorable.

This is what the inside look like. The stamp is from Personal Stamp Exchange but they are out of business now. I add some spica colors lipstick and pitch black to the sentiment.
Haleigh graduation markers
Here are the copic markers and the copic multiliner sp I used to color the image. Haleigh’s favorite color is red and for the school it is lavender, silver and some black. My balloons I cut out with some awesome paper I had and was lost but now is found. I was so excited I found a box of my paper I had in my craft room and have been looking for and could not find it was like Christmas all over again. Can never have to much, right???  I sure do not need to buy anymore for a long time.

Summer Days

Summer Days 2012
I hope everyone has had a wonderful Memorial Day week end spending time with your family’s. I had a wonderful time with family and working out in the yard. It was somewhat HOT but it did feel pretty good. I have not seen this shape of card around much but I received a card from a dear friend like this for my birthday and I had to make one so I email her and found out some information about the card so this is what I found out it is designed by Peerless and called Stubby Diamond card. I do have to tell you it is very important to have your measurements exacts because if you don’t it will not fold together right. I know because I had to redo it several times, but I got it.  The image I have here is from Nicecrane Designs, he has created a couple sets of these wonderful Little Magic Girls  and Little Magic Girls 2, if you would like to check them out. He also has some incredible collage sheets of The Wizard of Oz.
I did take several pictures of the finished card just incase in wanted to make it this way you can see how it looks done in different angles. The spellbinder I used is called lacey circles, Brilliance ink Victorian violet and sky blue. Diamond glaze, ribbon, Ice Stickles grape ice, mint ice and star dust. The little pearls and stuff I got in the bridle department at Hobby Lobby.

Fishing

Fishing 2012
It is time again for the challenge at The Outlawz at Twisted Thursday and for this week the challenge is ANYTHING GOES WITH THE TWIST OF SPORTS.  The challenge ends on May 30th so we would love to see what you can come up with. The stamp I used is from Northwood's stamps , the fishing pole is from Lasting impression and the birds are from Stampscapes. I did mask my image I used Eclipse sticky adhesive. Stamped everything with Memento Tuxedo black. I distressed the edges and I used 4 of each color on the corners and 2 blue ones of brads. I have found I never use brads anymore so I’m trying to use then more as I have so many. Created the background with distress inks and  sponge's, the colors I use are mustard seed, wild honey, scattered straw, bundled sage, forest moss, stormy sky's, tumbled glass and chipped sapphire.
Fishing markers These are the copic markers that was used to color the image. Tried some twinkling H2o’s iridescent blue to give the fish a fishy look not sure if it even helped. Added some white liquid applique and heated it a little so it would bubble up some to give the look of some waves. Used some diamond glaze from Jude kins to give a shinny look on the water and the fish.
Fishing side 2012 You can see the fish a little better now with the close up but I’m not sure if I like it or not and I tipped with a little white on the branches to give them a little highlight.

I hope you can join us at Twisted Thursday if you can’t stop by and see the DT’s cards, the girls all did a wonderful job. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful Memorial Day week end everyone.

Congratulations! 2012
Hello to all my wonderful followers! We had a fantastic week end here in Wisconsin beautiful sun shine and nice warm to a little too warm for me but the garden is all planted but still have some flowers I want to change and add. I put my Hummingbird feeder out yesterday and had some little visitor come by, I was so excited. I feed my birds all year around, I love seeing them come around. I wish I could keep the black bird away but I guess they have to eat also. Can you believe May is almost over. I sure hope things start slowing down.
