bird in my right

I made it 3D. The card is 1/4 inch think. I did the background with sponges. Used Brilliance inks sky blue, yellow and orchid to make a sunset. My birds I make I copy from the magazine Birds and Blooms. It is one of my favorite magazines. When I do the birds I write on the back of then so I can remember what they are called. This one is easy but some of then are really hard. If you do not know this is an Oriole. I try and come pretty close to what they look like. The punch I have is from Stampin’ up it is called the bird punch.

Bird in my left

For the top and bottom punch is Martha Stewards border punch Laurel Leaf, it makes a nice border.

Bird by the Oriole

Here is a closer look at my Oriole.

Bird by the side flowers The flowers are from Martha Steward Hydrangea punch, leaves are the Fond punch and the Autumn Branch punch.

Bird by my bottom flowers

Bird by the background

Here is a close up of the window with the bird. I have no idea why I made a card with punches but it was fun. I really did not want to make a card with a bunny for a guy so I know my guys would of liked something like this. So this is what I came up with and I hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping and have a wonderful week.

For the sentiment I used Stampin’ up 3/4x7/8 Oval Punch and the Scallop Oval Extra Large. I sponged around the small Oval with Brilliance Pearlescent Purple ink. I just love these chicks they are a stamp set that are from The Angel Company Called “Tail Feathers”. This is not all the stamps that come with the set. Are not these ladies Chicks a riot? The sentiments that come with the set are so funny. I colored everything with my copic markers.

dancing elf

Here is my card for For Fun Challenge Blog this week and the theme is Christmas. Our Sponsor is Rich St Dennis. The challenge started today and ends on March 29th at 11:59pm. Remember you need to add your card to the For Fun Challenge Blog.

We have a fantastic sponsor this week, Rick St Dennis.... Here is just a little about Rick St. Dennis MFA

Wow... what credentials!  Rick is providing a very generous prize for our challenge winner this week! The prize includes the three images our DT has created magic with, as well as at least three more gorgeous images!  Do go visit his blog here, and his Etsy shop here...

My image is called “Dancing Elf” and it you stop by his shop you can see all of his images. I wanted to make him really festive because he is an entertainer, enjoying himself. He needs all kinds of fancy things so I put earring rime stone (yellow) in his ears red ones on his jacket for the berry. Also I wanted to try and color him in rich colors like reds, greens, purple and gold's. He want to fleshy and sparkle. I used the Gelly Roll Pens Line Star, Red Star, Grape Star, and Gold Star. I punched out on the button with the Fiskers border punch “Snowflakes” and added some gold stickles to where the snowflakes came out. Used Spellbinder Labels Ten 2 of the sizes and layered then. Sponged around the inside oval with Brilliance Mineral ink, the gold color one.

dancing elf botton
