We are having a Design Team Call at Cards for Men...

I've decided to start a fortnightly challenge here on Donnas Den of Crafts and am looking for a handful of you out there to join the design team. All members will need to be able to make one card fortnightly for the regular challenge and to comment on the entrants as much as possible. You will also need to publicise the challenges that Donna's Den sponsors which is approximately one a month (but sometimes they're like buses!).
Anyone interested should leave a link to their card(s) in the comments below before mignight BST (British Summer Time) on 28th May 2010. I will contact/announce the winners by 31st May 2010 and the first challenge will be on 14th June 2010.
Good luck.

That is what Donna has posted on her blog and you would go here to post your card or cards and let Donna know if you are interested.

Good luck everyone, we are a great bunch of ladies. Donna is wonderful person to work with.

Summer Time, Yes it is almost here......

Summer Time

I do feel better when I do things I'm comfortable with and copic markers are what I'm comfortable with. It is fun to do something different once an awhile but when a person not happy with it, it is not fun. This is one of Mo Manning digis. I love her images they are all wonderful.summer time left side I added some buttons as little toys around the baby, just cut the backs off and ground then down tell there smooth and used glue dots to hold then on.summer time right side

Used Diamond Glaze from Judi Kins to give the look of water in the pool. Some summer color for ribbon. Summer time just front

Here is a real close up of the front of the card so you can see the coloring. It was an easy card to do. I just love it. I sure hope you enjoy this one. That baby is so cute.

Working with Some Water Color

Hydrangea done in water color

Something I have not done in a long time is working with my water colors. I'm sorry to say I sure could tell. Thought I would try something different. I just love this Hydrangea stamp. Sad thing is I can not even tell you who the stamp is made by because I took it off the wood a long time ago. I add glitter and it is ok.Hummer and Petunia

I have now idea what I was trying to do here. The water color turned out just fine and I'm thinking lets add glitter. I sure do think I add to much. What you think? Flowers are fine but the leaves are not. Poor hummer he did look just fine, he's not to bad but he did look better. So now I can not leave the day go on like this so I have to do what I do best. So I will be back.

And here's Chirpy

chippie all by himself

Chirpy is a real cutie pie.. He is so much fun. So easy to work with and you can have him or put him into anything. Here he is just showing off standing by all those pretty flowers. I wanted to leave him open with no saying because I can use him for pretty anything. He is one of Sunshine images if you would like to see more of Sunshine images you can click here. and we had a challenge at Crafters Delight, it is our first challenge there and the challenge was "Be kind to animals". Purples, lavenders are some of my favorite colors and that is even hard to say that because I love all colors. I used some designer paper, ribbon, styrofoam fluff, flowers that where already made and added some greenery behind then. Not like taking the easy way out. Added some of the teal color dots.my bird house

So then I had to make something but not a card. So this is what I came up with, with the help of my girlfriend Lee. She thought about the bird house. We made a template and put our heard together and this is what we came up with. I do want to thank my friend Lee for all the help she gave me in creating this little bird house. We had a lot of fun, we always do. You never know what happens when we get together. So her is Chirpy in his little "Home Tweet Home". We used several of Martha Steward punches to create the roof and used distress ink on the edges of the top roof and around the house edges so it looked a little old not so new. Three little butterflies with really small pearls on each of then. I punched out some greenery for around his house. I think Chirpy will be happy there.

This is a card I did for Card For Men challenge back in March and for some reason in my life things were a really crazy at that time and I never got to put it on my blog. So I was thinking now would be a good time with summer coming. This one of Prairie Fairy images she has a lot of fun images and I thought this was one of then. I love her new bears and her fairy's are adorable. If you would like to go over and see some of her things just click here. I colored the images with copic markers and used a template to create the water and the sky. No embellishments this time. I feel like I'm missing something. Well enjoy.

A day at the Beach

Enjoy summer

This is one of Isabella Designs images. When I first seen it I just fell in love with the image. I think it is so cute. Wanted to join in on Isabella's challenge, Challenge #5 this week and it is a good one. You can do anyone of her images and you can win 6 of her images and I know I would love to get some of her images for Free, she has some beautiful ones. If you would like to check out some of her images you can click here and see them or if you would like to join in on her challenge you can click here and go to her challenge blog.

Enjoy summer (side)

The stamp is from Great Impressions it is wonderful saying and how true that is. The paper is from Heidi Grace designs and that is manufactured for Fiskars and made in the USA. Stamped the saying with Brilliance Sky Blue ink and used a template to sponge the sky on the background on the image. The corner punch used is from Family Treasures. Colored my image with copic markers and also used the copic multiliners 0.3 markers. White Gel Pen- Pastel American Craft. Something a friend told me and I will share it with you because it works but I do it a little different. She told me that she take her white pens and puts it in her hand so it warms up and rolls it back and forth. I have a hard time doing that because of my Arthritis in both my hands so when I go to my craft room I know I will be using my white Pen so I sit on it so when I need it I know where it is and it is all warm and it really works, my inks flows out beautifully. So if you have a hard time getting your white pens to work give it a try, you do not need to sit on your but if you can think of something better, let me know. The ribbon I just love I got it at Joann's and it sure works with the theme. Used Diamond Glaze from Judi Kins on the Penguins to give then a little shine. The embellishments are from Dress it up Mosaics Style #7. I almost forgot I use my Styrofoam Fluff to make it look like sand that everyone is walking on. I hope you like my card. If you do like me know by leaving a comment.

Emma and her butterfly card.

Emma card out side

Emma worked really hard on her card she wanted to make for Mommy, their was no special reason she just wanted to make her Mommy a card.  Personally I would not know where she would ever get that from but I understand. I had some card stock already cut out so she picked the colors she wanted for her card. Now you have to know Emma is 4 years old. After all she is her grandmothers grand daughter and we do this often together. I do have to tell you one of her main goals in life is that she want to be able to color like grandma does. She picked out the stamps she wanted to use. They said Love You, My heart belongs to you and Thinking of you. Of course she could not read then I did have to read what they said to her but those where the ones she wanted. She also wanted the butterfly punch and the two oval punches and she did punch everything out, a little much but that is what she wanted. Oh yes and she wanted ribbon and a bow.Emma card opened outside

Now if you look at the front of the card and she was placing everything where she wanted it to be and I then put tape on the back of the card stock and she put it on the card and I might say she did pretty good.  I did help her with putting the glue on the butterflies. As we where doing this I said to her I thought you wanted to put some ribbon and a bow on the card and she looks up at me and says grandma we will have to put it inside the card. So I told her if that is what you want we will do that. So I hope you can see the ribbon and bow and she picked a little flower and was holding it in her hand because she wanted that to go with the card for mommy. I do have to say I made the bow.Emma Card This is a close up of Emma's card and I did not think to get a close up of the inside.  I feel the butterflies are going to take off with that paper any second now. We had a lot of fun doing her card and we will be doing many more. As my little artist grows up I will be sharing her art work with you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy making it with her.
