I’m not good at doing CAS cards but I did want to see if I could do it and I think I pretty much did!

HomeMade, Eat Turkey 2014 l
The paper is from Die Cuts with a View (DCWV) Nana’s Kitchen stack. The sentiment was part of the stack. The spellbinder used to cut out the Rooster is called curved rectangles. I do have to tell you I keep wanting to call the Rooster a Chicken, sorry!

HomeMade, Eat Turkey 2014 f
Added several glitter dots. Now hope easy is that?

HomeMade, Eat Turkey 2014 i
My poor inside, used brilliance ink color orange and several glitter dots but I had to write “EAT TURKEY”, you know how at Thanksgiving time they tell you to eat BEEF, I thought if it said EAT TURKEY that would be funny, well what you think?

HomeMade, Eat Turkey 2014 m
These are the copic markers I used to color my Rooster. I wanted to share with you what I did to the ground. I asked my friend (he like to do woodworking to save me some saw dust) and what can I say, a little silly question but he did. So I took the saw dust and mixed with some other stuff I had to make it look like what Roosters would walk in (I think) so this is what I got. Used some diamond glaze to hold everything down and this it what it looks like. It you add just a touch of greens inks it kind of looks like grass.

Here is the close up of the Rooster all colored up.

the SCACD Holiday Inspiration Day

Winter Guardian 2014
Today is a special day at SCACD it is A Holiday Inspiration Day and several of us got together and thought we would use some of the amazing digital images Susana has in her store that the artist Carmen Medlin has done. The image I have is called Winter Guardian. When I seen this one I just fell in love with her but there are several I really love. Plus she is having a SALE going on right now. So stop by SCACD store and see what is going on. Susana also has a Blog with all kinds of inspiration on it.
Winter Guardian 2014 r
Spellbinder grand nestabilities scalloped, I cut out several of the sizes. Folded them in half. The paper was from my stash. This is really not a card it opens up as you will see and you can hang it on the wall. I explain about the stickers below but I used 3 trees and 5 gifts and several of the stars.
Winter Guardian 2014 l
I used some Brilliance ink color white around the edges.

Here are some little closer pictures of the image. I added pear pen color ice white to the background. Some flower gems in blue to the trees. Very tiny white pearls to the button of her dress. I do hope you can see that it is a little 3D, everything is raised. I colored my image first and them I added the crystal fine glitter until it was smooth and them colored a little over what I already colored.

Cold Winter

Cold Winter 2014
Burrrrr, that sounds like a cold title. But it is time for Scrapy Land challenge#7 and the challenge this time is ANYTHING GOES, using any brand of die that Scrapy Land sells so stop by and check out all the brands Srapy Land sales. The challenge started today and it ends December 17th. If you want stop by and see all the wonderful cards and projects the designers have created over at the blog. The first thing I did was create by background. I used Brilliance inks pads these are the colors yellow, orchid, beige, orange, 0live, ivy, sky blue, mediterranean blue.

Cold Winter 2014 r
Once I have my colors together I pounced out a 1 inch circle Eclipse paper (it is for masking) and place my sun/moon about where I wanted it to be. Them I always start with my real dark colors for the visional line you would see in the far background, I use a straight piece of paper, using the brilliance ink mediterranean blue for the far sky line and the ivy for the the ground line. You can also make your own sky  templates, just take a piece of paper and tier it across kind of up and down. Using your template you can create all kinds of different shapes in the shy. You do need to remember to take your Eclipse paper off and what I get is a big white spot so I try using some yellow, orange, sky blue to fill that in.

Cold Winter 2014 l
Once I had added enough color to the shy, I picked out a couple of stamps, using them for the edges and I wanted to add some birds. Some times I add some white to the leaves that’s kind of nice because it give the leaves some detail. My stamps are from Stampsscapes, I love Stampscapes stamps they have some amazing ones that can help you create all kinds od scenes. So I want to us these die cuts Impression Obsession die079-U that is the Trees and Impression Obsession die0810-N deer. So if you would like to check at the store you can go here.

Cold Winter 2014 c
I cut the trees out and I added some C01 to the open area on the birch trees and them I added some stickles star dust for some sparkle. No real reason why I cut the deer out in white, I guess I just wanted to. Added Aleene’s true snow on the ground area and some diamond dust from Twinklet’s. As you can see I did not do much with the inside. Just sponged around some of the edges.

Cold Winter 2014 i

I hope you have had a nice day. Here is Wisconsin today it was nice sunny day and we have no snow but I sure we will have some for Christmas. How you doing with you shopping? Did you go out on Black Friday? I stayed home with the grandkids and we made cookies. Found out yesterday Isaiah (grandson) will be coming home for Christmas this year, can you believe he is a junior in high school this year and I just found out that he has just got his 2 degree in black belt, I so proud of him. No girlfriends yet, I tell him keep it that way but he has been asked to some dance they have coming up that the girls ask the guys. Well have a nice evening. Take care and be safe. Oh I wanted to say if you have any questions let me know. I will do a tutorial on the Tent card for you several of you have asked.

Twisted Thursday cards

A Little Tree 2014
The Twisted Thursday challenge over at the Outlawz has started and I want to show you what I have created, I have to say I’m sorry (again) for not getting them out right away but we have had some not so good things happen and I really do not want to get into to it and I really do not think you want to be upset and I know that is what it will do. So we will talk about creating cards but this is a tag… I seen this image and I just fell in love with it, I think it is adorable it is one by Aurora Wings and it is called  Christmas Tree Spirit with a Gingerbread man. It was so much fun to color and add some decorations to it and to make it 3D. That is our Twist for this challenge WINTER SPARKLES AT CHRISTMAS.
A Little Tree 2014 t
Not sure if you can see but I added Martha Steward train edger across the tag.  The paper I used is from DCWV winter solstice stack. I loved the blue so I added blue and diamond gems.
