Welcome everyone, I want to share a card with you that I made for I Brake For Stamps. It is a beautiful day here in Wisconsin sun is shining and the temps are in the 40’s. Although I love all the seasons and my card make me want to go by the ocean. Over at the store you can fine all kinds of stunning scenery stamps. This stamp is called Cape Hatteras North Carolina (large), this stamp is a picture of that light house. These are some of my favorite kinds of cards to do.
The first thing I did was stamp my image on Eclipse printable paper, this paper has a sticky adhesive and it makes it easy to mask you image and you can use the paper more then once. Then I cut the image out. After that I used several inks to color the stamp.
Doing the background I used my sponges and a template. The inks used are Brilliance Mediterranean blue, ice blue, sky blue, orange, coral, yellow and beige. Some opaque white and clear glaze from Sakura. I added the corner, thought it would give a framed look.
The different inks I used to create this scene. The makers you see on the right side are Mementos markers colors bamboo leaves, rich cocoa, cottage ivy, desert sand and lady bug. I applied those inks right to the stamp. Stamped the image on my card stock and after a couple minutes applied the Eclipse paper over the image.
Sentiment is from IBFS it is called footprints in the sand, thought it was perfect for this stamp. I cut the sentiment out with spellbinders deckled rectangles large. Used Versafine majestic blue to stamp the sentiment. I sponged around the edges with Brilliance Mediterranean blue ink, the die cut is from Memory box called lavish branch. Flower centers is pearl pen color black and the dots is pearl pen color blue. Left area open for a written message.
Remember if you stop by I Brake For Stamps and want to get a discount use my coupon code and that is SAVE10PAT.
Finally here is the close up of the stamped image.
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful week. I wanted to share with you that Lake Michigan is 71% frozen over this year and I have lived here in Kenosha for 37 years and that has never happened. Also Before I moved to Kenosha I lived in Michigan (UP) for 18 years and I can’t remember anything like this happening. Thanks again for stopping! Stay safe!
QUESTION, DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE THERE ARE SOME NICE BLOG BACKGROUNDS ARE? FREE OR BUY?

This is stunning and you've colored the image beautifully. Love that background you created too.
Being born and raised by the sea I just love nautical scenes! When I lived in the mountains in Switzerland and the inlands of France, I missed only two things really, my family and the smell of salty sea air. When I came home for Christmas holidays my father would drive me to the islands of Hvaler (connected to the mainland with bridges) so that I could really breath in the salty air... Your card is beautiful, love the scene and colors and the whole feel of the scene. And it has taken my down the memory lane too, thanks for that:)
I love lighthouses! I actually collect minatures. I love your card, so beautifully done and so beautifully designed. Love the background, you just do such beautiful work.

Oh, Pat, your scene is soooo gorgeous! I love the image, love all the wonderful coloring, and love your use of the white gel pen! The gold photo corners really finish this off beautifully! :^)
I do not know about blog backgrounds--I just used the one that came with Blogger. I know there are designers out there--perhaps you should ask Suzanne Dean--she has someone who designs hers.

The card is sensational Pat, but I loved hearing about the stats you mentioned. This winter has been a bitter one for you no doubt! The lighthouse is sensational. I'm enjoying the 40's again too, but the wind is getting a bit ridiculous.
Hope you have a good weekend my friend.
hugs,
