I’m going to try and do the writing a little bigger this time. Let me know if you like it a little bigger, if not I will leave it. But I had a little hard time reading yesterdays. Now do not tell me it is just because I’m getting to old…..(beat ya) I do know I need my eyes checked.
So for this weeks Challenge #61 at Squigglefly. It is to make a Sympathy card using browns, ivory and to make it clean and simple. You need to use one of Squigglefly images so you will find the here. You can also see all the wonderful NEW images that came out this week. You need to have your card entered on Sunday August 15. Come on and join us!
The card I made is called a Recessed Window Card. I did find it on splitcoaststamper and here is the link if you would like to try it.http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/recessedwindow/ I always wanted to make one of these cards and I did enjoy making it. I did have one problem, when I was all done I had a hard time keeping the card standing up. For some reason it would lay flat down so what I did was make an insert for inside and taped it down so it would fold when I wanted the card to fold but would not let the card slide all the way down.
I really wanted to get into the card and add all kinds of embellishments but I had to keep it clean and simple. I really had to control myself. I did add a charm, a little butterfly. That corner looks so empty I just had to put something there. I used Martha Steward punch called lace for something on the bottom.
I’m sorry I do not know who made the words. That is a close look at what the window look like. I think it would be fun to make some more cards like this and kind of play around with the little window. I would love to see you try and make the card and if you do let me know and I would love to see it.
Remember if you have any problems let me know and I will do what I can to help.
Something to remember: When you are doing your ART it is the ONLY way to run away without leaving home.
I do hope everyone had a wonderful day. I do hope you where able to stay cool.
Happy Crafting Everyone,
