For the benefit of my mostly US audience, in the UK and many other countries we buy paper poppies around the 11th to commemorate those who served and those who fell during the World Wars 1 & 2, The Vietnam War, The Civil War, The Saudi Arabia War, Iraq War and sorry if I missed any other war. All these MEM and WOMAN need to be HONORED AND REMEMBERED for they gave their lives for everyone of us so we can live in FREEDOM. The poppies specifically memorialize the killing fields in France and Belgium during WWI where the "lions led by donkeys" on both sides killed each other in unimaginable numbers. Day in, day out. Only the Spanish Flu of 1918 out killed the machine guns, mustard gas and barbed wire.
In that spirit, no matter what your politics, no matter where you live today, no matter what else you are doing or celebrating this November 11th, I would ask only this: Please take a moment today to remember the Fallen and their sacrifices, no matter where they fell nor for what cause.
Let us make it so that, for today at least, we will remember them.
“FOR THE FALLEN”
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Let me be the first-CLAP CLAP. Very well said Pat. This is a wonderful tribute.
As a mother of a soldier now deployed I want to make sure EVERYONE knows what our military people do for our country and many more.
Blessings
Hi Patricia yes is Poppy Day here in the UK as well, luckily my grandson is home at the moment but when he was servicing in Iraq and Afghanistan I can tell you it was very scarey and worrying.
With love and hugs Shirleyxxxx
Absolutely! Very well said! A tribute to always remember and never forget what our men and women have done for us serving their country that they love for us!
My card was stunning and breathtaking! Those colors are so vibrant together and just pop out at you! I absolutely love it! It's gorgeous! Thank you so much, Patricia! Spending the afternoon with you at my house was wonderful. I enjoyed it so much. The lessons are always appreciated - always room to learn more about card making. Thank you again! Very memorable!
