I've been an artist since the day I was born I just never knew it. As a child I always loved arts and crafts but as an adult I let real life take over and forgot about the important things like scissors, paper and glue.  I dabbled in jewelry making for a while then my friend Jeni introduced me to papercrafting in 2011 and later that year  I started sketching my own greeting card images.  In April of 2012 I opened Oak Pond Creations Digital Illustration Studio on Etsy. For the look of snow I used Aleene’s true snow, Twinklets by Diamond Dust and snowflake punches.

Wanted to give the sliddin snowman a 3D look so used foam dots. I love working with all these different mediums and it sure make a card a lot of fun.

I used material on my card for this week, sometimes it is fun to do that. I look in  the remnats and you can find all kinds of fabric. I use wonder under on the back and iron it on the fabric and them on the card stock, cut it with the cutter it stays wonderful.

Martha Steward Aspen Snowflake corner and border punch. Both of the sentiments are from Hampton stamps. Used distress ink color chipped sapphire. The extra snowflakes I had in my stash. These are the copic markers used to color the image. Sorry the picture did not turn out very good. Also used Copic multiliner sp 0.3 pens color cool gray, sepia and red.

Pretty in Pink

Guess what we got today and the weatherman said no snow for our area, I wish I could get paid to be so wrong so many times. Just kidding I like our weather guy he is funny and a real nice family guy. We got just a dusting and I’m glad about that. So I do hope everyone has been well and getting ready for Thanksgiving. This year we are going to have Thanksgiving here, everyone is coming home. Sad to say my brother Bill and Georgianna will not be coming from Austin and we will miss them. Just a little about Georgianna she is still in rehab but there is progress. Everything is very slow but we all will take every drop of progress we can get. For those that do not know my sister had brain surgery in September and they removed a large tumor and she has gone though a lot. Our Color Me Creative challenge #82 has started, our challenges are bi monthly and it will end Dec 6th 8:00 pm EST. For this time it is ANYTHING GOES.  Digi my world is our sponsor for this challenge and the image I used is g7621-1.

I decided to cut out the image and place it on the die cut. The spellbinder used is called  labels twenty two. The papers used are from my scraps. The ribbon I added in the back is a pretty soft pink with silver sparkles it is 1 1/2 inches. To the corners I added some pearl pen color ice white.

My flowers are from Hobby Lobby you can get them in the Bridal department when they are 50%. The little pink and white pearls that are sticking out of the flowers, I really do not know what to call them but I’ve had them for a long time and thought they would look nice.

I wanted to used La la Land heart banner but it did not work well on the front so decided to add it inside along with marianne die tag LR0249 and flourishe LR0154. So I made a pocket and did more faux stitching with my gelly roll white pen. The little hearts I added to the front of the card. We can’t forget the flower brad and more gems..

I have no idea why I did not take a picture of the copic markers, their was not many. I used RV000, RV00 AND RV02. For her little dress I used gelly roll pens pink and star. Used gelly roll pen silver for her stand and the key to turn the music on. I looked really hard to find these tiny gems and they worked. I made this for Emma and as much sparkle as I can get will make her happy. She is getting a jewelry box for Christmas and thought this card would be nice to go along with it.

I really took the easy road with this card, I found some stickers I had, they are from EK Success of different trees. My papers are from my scraps.

The background was done with watercolor paper. Used several different colors and blended them together, ironed until it was dry, then used a TCW template called Aspen Trees, taped that down then sprayed Tattered Angels glitter mist colors meadow green and twilight. Let that set for several minutes.  The leaves are from memory box die called tender leaves. Added some Viva inka gold metallic rub to the leaves.

Memory box die delicate vine and I added some stickers of a bird and some flowers. These are the copic markers used to color my image. Let the inside open to added a sentiment or a written message.

Take a look at the words " Get Well Soon" on the card below. This word circle was computer generated and is super easy to do. To show you just how easy, I created a video tutorial to show you. (link below) I love creating these circles as the possibilities are endless! Your greetings can express Happy Birthday, Thinking of You, Congratulations!, Welcome Baby, etc. You can even personalize the greetings. Once you've played around with creating your own custom word circles, I hope you'll upload your creations so we can admire your handiwork.

Added Pearl pen color Kiwi. I used one of those action Wobble Springs from stick.wobble.smile and when the card wiggles the turtle does wobbles.

The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge for this week has started and the TWISTED for this week is all about “SHAPED CARDS”. The spellbinder I used is called gold labels four. Added some cheese cloth and some shells, rocks, fish from my stash.

Used Martha Steward shell border punch.

My papers are also from my stash. These are the copic markers used to color the images.

Added some diamond glaze from Judi kins for the bubbles. For the background I mostly used the B’s and added some W’s but also added shimmerz color sea foam and tattered angels glimmers pearl and twilight, what I did was brush them on lightly with a fanned out brush. So many sparkles in all colors but hard to see in pictures. 

Starting in 2014 Twisted Thursday is going to start doing some special things and we have some surprises for all of the members. Color Me Creative Challenge #81 has started and it ends on November 22, 2013. The theme is all about winter, frosty and cold. I think you get the idea from the picture. I used Aleene’s True Snow, I love that stuff and it lasts a long time. Stickles star dust, yellow and waterfall. My paper are from DCWV it is the Winter Wonderland stack.

All the snowflakes are punched out with different sizes of punches from Punch a Bunch.

I used white sparkle foam for some of the snowflakes. Left the inside open for a sentiment or a written message. I know I took a picture of the copic markers but I can’t find it. Sorry no picture.. Here is the close up of the images.

Time for Fall

I’m here with a card. Sorry it has been awhile but that stuff takes a lot out of a person, it even takes a little of your crafting out of you. Over at The Outlawz Thursdays Twist challenge has started and the twisted for this week is all about FALL  COLORS, as you can tell I was having problems with my card, try something different and did not come out the way I wanted it too. My stamp Happy Thanksgiving is a tiny stamp and have no idea who made it. The flax stitching I did with a white gelly roll pen. My papers are from my scraps.

The apple and pumpkin punch is from fiskars. These are the copic use to color the image.

 

Just want to point out how straight I stamped my sentiment, It is like this pour card was domed. But the kitty turned out so nice…. I just had to add them. See this is what being sick does to a person.
