Dear Santa right 2012

My card for me is really simple. My image is called Dear Santa.  The sentiment is from When the scraps hit the fun. I made a frame around the image with Martha Steward aspen snowflake punch around it measures 5 inches by 5 inches. Punch out the sentiment with 1 1/4 round punch and 1 2/2 scalloped punch. Used some scrap papers around the image, snowflakes and inside. Added Stickles glitter glue star dust.

Christmas Ornament

pretty little ornament standing 2012

I know! I’m sorry, twice in one day is a lot and I don’t like it either but what can I say.  The Outlawz Twisted Thursday challenge has just started and I want to share that with you so you wont miss it. This week the Twist is to make a project or a card using punches or die cuts. On my project I used punches, I created an ornament. I will try and walk you thru how I made it but I just took my punches out and this is what I got.  I decided to take a picture of the punches I used, I hope this will help you. I really have to tell you this is so easy to make it is unbelievable.

IMG_0173

From the top left to the right, large green one is Marvy Uchida 3 1/2 inch can be scalloped or not (does not matter) punch 1, black one stampin up 1 1/4 scallop punch 1, stampin up ornament punch out 5 them in one color and punch 15 in another color , on the left is a company out of business but I wanted you to see the shape kind of leaf shape punch 5, Marvy Uchida 3/4 punch 1 and Marvy Uchida 1 inch punch 1.

This is what the back looks like. As far as colors you can use what ever color you want.

IMG_0175

Punch out 1- 3 1/2 (or any large circle punch), Punch out 5- ornament glue (mine are green)them over the edges of your circle punch.

pretty little ornament 2012

now punch out 12 ornaments , 3 of them for each section. as you can see there are 5 sections and fold them in half.  Put one face down and glue the two other ones to each half of the flat ornament.  Now take the other sides that are not glued and glue them down in-between  the other 5 ornaments (mine are green) you already glued down. Punch out 5 of the punch that is kind of leaf shape and fold in half ( I cut the ends off that I inserted in the middle).  I have Tim Holtz Rosettes die cut so I made one rosette and used the 3/4 to hold the back and the 1 inch for the front. I found the snowman embellishment but you can add anything. I glued him to the 1 1/4 scalloped circle. The green material I had in my scraps you can use anything netting and folded it over and glued it in between . Add some Christmas ribbon to hang it up with.

This is another one I started to make, I’m not quite finished with it yet but I did it the same way. I hope you are not totally confused now… If you try and make it and have problems let me know and I will help you or just email me and I will get right back to you.

Have to go watch the kids tonight.  Kurt and Jessica have classes to go to but I will be back a lot later. I have great evening.

People make the world special

People make the world special 2012

I hope you had a nice week end. Mind was mostly quiet, had the grandkids Saturday and they spent the night so they played some video games and we watched a movie. Sunday after the kids went home I worked on some projects I have started for my mother in law. I’m making her some Christmas treat bags for her friends for at her table. When I get them all done I will take a picture and share them with everyone.

So now at Color Me Creative we have our NEW challenge #56 starting and it is

**All About Kids**

YOU CAN COLOR YOUR IMAGE WITH ANY MEDIUM YOU WANT WITH ANY COLORS AND HAVE ANY THEME BUT ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS HAVE A CARD THAT HAS A CHILD LIKE THEME.

OUR SPONSOR FOR THIS CHALLENGE IS:

Di's Digi Designs

and the prize is

A $10 Gift Certificate to Di's Digi Designs

(Remember winners for prizes are randomly chosen)

I used Mo Manning images for my card the set I used is called Little Mermaid Set and the set comes with all these images. Mermaid Kailani, Mermaid Mairin, tropical fish 1 & 2, sea rocks and the starfish. I had a lot of fun creating the scene and all the sparkles. The paper used was Core’dinations yacht club glitter paper and The Paper Studio water waves paper. The Schell's I added are real ones and I put just a few white pearl in them and on the bottom I added real beach sand.  The tiny rocks are all polished and they look so pretty. First I added diamond accents to make some of the things look wet and to try and make things magical I need to add sparkle so I used Stickles Ice glitter glue colors mint ice, grape ice, lime ice and star dust.

people make the world special flat 2012

I made pockets in the back to hold the sentiments.

People make the world special words 2012

I did make this card as a birthday card but most of all the middle sentiment was special to me. It say “Some people make the world Special just by being in it” and the person I’m going to give this card to is a special one so that sentiment fits perfect. That other one say “Genuine Article accept no substitutes”.

People make the world special markers

All the copic markers used to color all the images.

Thanks so much for stopping by. These little ones are just so cute. Have a great week. I will be back in a couple of day.

For my card I used one of La La Land images called Pilot Luka. The paper is from die cuts with a view stack doodling around. Used some fluff around his hat and jacket. Embossed the paper with cuddle bug embossing folder argyle.  Die cut from Susan’s Custom and Card designs called classic corner. Metal dots green. Stampin’ up ticket punch. Martha Steward classic butterfly.

Here is another side look at the card. Sorry I have not been around much but things have been pretty busy for me and I’m trying to keep up with everything. I know things are going to be slowing down pretty soon and that will be good.
