Happy Easter

 

All kinds of NEW things going on this week at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge and I know it is going to make everyone happy. The challenge for this week is ANYTHING GOES WITH A TWIST and the TWIST is EASTER and that means you can make a card and enter ANYTHING GOES but if has the TWIST, and that is  EASTER you will get your name in TWICE FOR THE DRAWING. So let me explain a little more if you make just a ANYTHING GOES card you will get your name in once. I hope I made that clear.

Here is a left and a right view of my card the stamp I used is from fantastic and I sorry I do not know the name of the stamp. The sentiment is from Digital Delight, I added a tooth pick to it so it would look like a banner. Cut it out with a spellbinder lattice rectangle, I sponged around my stamp with distress ink bundled sage and tumbled glass before I took off the die cut so I would not get any of the ink on the edges. Rounded the edges with my Zutter corner rounder. My banner is from A•Muse Studio’s. I have a girl friend that started selling A•Muse products and I do love their products.

I did add a few stickers, the little duckier. The bunny look so tried after a long day of doing something so I thought it would be nice if it was babysitting some baby ducks.

Tutorial for Magic Card/Spring Pretties

First thing we have started our challenge #40 at Color Me Creative Classroom and theme is Spring Pretties. The challenge end April 13. Our sponsor is Little Darlings.






These are my copic I used to color my image. My stamp is from Sylvia Zet and she is called “Give peace a chance”. My sentiment is from Stampendous.


I choose most of the paper I wanted to use. What I did for each layer I used a different color, hoping that would make it easier for you to understand. I color my main image I’m going to put on the front and decide what sentiment I want to use inside.

Back is cut 6.5 by 6 inches (gold paper)
Inside is 5.5 by 6 inches (green)
Front is 7.5 by 4 inches (blue)

After you have cut your back layer 6.5 X 6 inches, you need to score 1 inch on the 6.5 inch and fold toward the inside of the card.

I choose to use Martha Steward Shells Border punch. You can use any kind of border punch you want.

Punch your sides.




This is the inside layer you will cut it 5.5 by 6 inches and score .75 (3/4) inch and use your border punch on the 5.5 inch side.


So it will look something like this. I just set them together.

For the top layer cut it 7.5 by 4 inches. You will score it at the 6 inch line.




My layers are all cut out and I used a spellbinder (mega nestabilities curved rectangles) to cut the rest of my layers out, so not you can embellishment them how ever you would like.

If you are going to do any sponging to the edges you should do that now.

On the top layer where you scored the 1.5 inch you need to tape or glue that to the top of the last layer.

This is what it will look like.




Take the middle layer.

Now you can add the middle layer and glue or tape it to the last layer. I do not want to confuse you but if you had used all one color of paper you could glue or tape the middle layer to the top layer. Let me show you how they look. The first one I taped the middle to the top, second one the middle to the last layer and the last one the middle to the last layer.



The punch I use for this one is from Easy Cut Crafts it is called Baby’s Breath.




As you can see I used distress ink. I also used some polyshrink (shrink plastic) I have not used that in a long time it was so much fun. The extra sunflower stamp was a free stamp that came with Sylvia Zet stamp set and I wanted to use it so I stamped it a couple times on the polyshrink and cut them out and used my heat gun.

This is how they looked before I heated them and I colored them with my copic markers.

This how they look after they have been heated.

Here you can see how much small they are. I added them to the area where you would sign you name. The young lady I made this for she love pearls so I did add some extra one for her. Come Out and Play!

We are now starting our challenge at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday challenge and for this week it is going to be ANYTHING GOES and you will need to tag your card TT032912. It will end on Wednesday April 4, Hope you will join us you can use any kind of medium for coloring your image, how great is that.  This is another thing I love about The Outlawz challenges you can use Any image or stamp you want as long as it fits the theme of the challenge!  Just love these two images and these are from Mo Manning The little girl is called “Come out and play” and the boy is called “Kitchen Knight” these are so much fun to color. This was just a simple card and I thought the sentiments would be so cute with these two little ones. I did add some diamond glaze and some grass fibers.

Butterflies!

Hello everyone! Hope you are having a great week. Here is a card I did with one of the vintage images from Nicecrane Designs. She is such a cutie. I also can share the design sheet with you so if you would like to color any of these cuties please feel free to do so. It is called Kiddie Land. I hope I made it big enough for you to get a good copy. You should be able to right click and SAVE PICTURE AS.

For me I just kept it simply. I thought with the fly swatter she is holding I would add some butterflies on flowers. The butterfly punch is from Martha Steward. Used the Pearl Pen color Sunny Yellow. Ribbon matched her hat so well. These are the copic markers I used to color her in.

We are just starting out challenge at Cards for Men it Challenge #7 and it is all about The Great Outdoors. The challenge ends on April 8th. Karen Johnson has been drawing all of her life. She has worked on the feature film, “Fern gully The Last Rainforest” and has created animations for Disney, Fisher Price and Mattel. She has illustrated several children’s books and is currently teaching animation at a college in Wisconsin. She started Karen’s Doodles so she could share her whimsical drawings with crafters from around the world.

My card was so much fun to do. My image I think is just so cute.

I found some buttons I had that so I used them as embellishments. Out of the twine I made a rope toy added some brads that look like shells and a ball. Use some diamond glaze on his drink, lawn chair and glasses. These are the copics I used to color him with.

I finished off the inside of the card and I tried some sewing on my card. Here is the close up of the image.
